  Appointment Procedure

 

(A) Following investigations do not require prior appointment.

Hormones:
1)     Serum T3, T4 and TSH
2)     Serum FT3, FT4, TSH
3)     Serum TSH
4)     Serum Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)
5)     Serum Luteinizing hormone (LH)
6)     Serum Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)
7)     Serum Prolactin (PRL)
8)     Serum Progesterone
9)     Serum Testosterone
10)   Serum Anti-thyroid antibody
11)   Neonatal cord blood TSH

Cancer marker:
1)     Serum Alpha feto-protein (AFP)
2)     Serum Thyroglobulin (TG)
3)     Serum PSA
4)     Serum CA-125
5)     Serum Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)

 

Blood sample will be collected for these hormones and marker assays if you come in any working day in the Centre. However, you have to reach the centre before 12:30 P.M. to complete necessary formalities like, payment of fees, registration and blood collection. Making serum from blood takes about 2 hours and should be completed before office closing. All hormone & cancer marker studies are done with Radioimmunoassay (RIA) or Immuno-radiometric assay (IRMA). These studies require number of standard samples & quality control samples & 5-24 hours to complete. To be cost effective, a number of patient serum samples should be combined in a single batch & as a result report of hormone studies are usually given after 4-15 days depending on the type of study.


Blood for serum Cortisol should be ideally collected only in the morning & prior consultation is required for blood collection procedure.
 

 

(B) Following investigations do not require prior appointment.

All thyroid studies like Ultrasound of Thyroid, Thyroid scan, Serum T3, T4, TSH

You have to arrive at the centre preferably before 10:30 A.M. to complete necessary formalities like, payment of fees, registration and allow investigations to complete


 

(C) Following studies require prior appointment.
You have to consult the appointment Counter with advice prescription of the referral Doctor any time during the working period. The necessary pre-requisite, drug preparation, amount of fees, etc. will be explained along with the appointment date by the person, attending the appointment counter.

1)     All Ultrasound studies other than thyroid study from out patient department of the hospital and patient referred by doctors outside the hospital.
2)     All hospital Ultrasound appointments, except urgent ones
3)     All Nuclear scan
4)     All Nuclear therapies
5)     All color Doppler & High resolution studies
